Project Name: Author visit

 

Overview

This project is intended to fill a specific set of user needs.  It is based on the following data:

  • Bring an author or illustrator to the school setting
  • Show learners the development of a book
  • Create and environment that accepts open mindedness and creative ideas

 

Objectives

This project should have the following impact on our school:

  • Students will be more interested in reading more about books the author or illustrator
  • Students will be exposed to a variety of literacy ideas and how to follow through to an end product
  • Students will be involved in the process of creating books

  • First Planning Session to brainstorm ideas for authors to visit: December 5, 2008, 8:15 am Meg's Room
  • Second Planning Session to look at cost and availability: December 15, 2008, 8:15 am Meg's Room
  • Finalize Choice: January 8, 2009, 8:15 am in Meg's Room
  • Disseminate Responsibilities: January 16th, 8:15 am Meg's Room
  • Follow Up Session to Fine Tune the Visit:   March 5, 2009 8:15 am Meg's Room
  • Finalize Details:  April 1, 2009 8:15 am Meg's Room
  • Author Visit: April 7, 2009
